Hypnotherapy is becoming more widely accepted

‘Proving’ the hypnotic state has long been a subject of discussion among therapists and researchers, now Vaughn Bell reports in the UK’s Observer Newspaper writes that for the first time neuroimaging has been key to discovering the differences in brain activity between a hypnotised and a person asked to fake or pretend that they are hypnotised. Bell writes, “When people are asked to fake hypnosis, to the point where observers cannot tell the difference between them and the genuinely hypnotised people, the two groups are clearly distinguishable by their brain activity.”
