- generalised anxiety disorder
- panic attacks
- phobias
- agoraphobia
- social anxiety
- fear of flying and; many more.
A level of anxiety is quite normal and feeing tense and a little anxious is what keeps us safe when we face potentially dangerous situations. Anxiety is part of the normal “fight, flight” response we’re all familiar with. However, when anxiety persists it can become and anxiety disorder that becomes debilitating and stops us from enjoying life.
Generalised anxiety
Some clients feel anxious or have panic attacks for no apparent reason and these are often accompanied by physical sensations which can feel debilitating. This type of anxiety is known as generalised anxiety disorder and together with other types of anxiety responds extremely well to hypnotherapy.
Brisbane Hypnosis Clinic : hypnotherapy for anxiety and panic attacks
At Brisbane Hypnosis Clinic we have been successfully helping people who suffer anxiety for more than 20 years and the use of hypnotherapy for anxiety & panic attacks has a long and successful history.
Although it may not feel like it when you are experiencing them anxiety and panic attacks are actually primarily a physiological response rather than a mental or psychological one. The “fight or flight” response that we are all hard-wired to trigger in times of threat is generally the root of undue anxiety causing us to feel distressed. Hypnotherapy actually reverses the “fight or flight” response by triggering the opposite “relaxation response”.
Panic attacks generally occur when we have a heightened “fight or flight” response even though we may not consciously be aware of any specific cause or threat. This response can be so powerful in some people that simply thinking about a panic attack can cause all of the feelings to return resulting in yet another attack. It can seem that there is no way to break the cycle, the more they think about their anxiety, the more it seems to manifest itself.
If you suffer anxiety, panic attacks or if you’re anxious about flying, the most important thing you need to know is that these physiological responses can be changed. Hypnotherapy can change the way you think and feel and the way your body responds, and you can learn techniques of self hypnosis that will allow you to regain control over the anxiety response. Understanding how anxiety and panic actually work and learning how to effectively control the feeling they evoke is the key permanently overcoming anxiety. We can help you achieve this rapidly using a combination of proven hypnotherapy and NLP techniques.
If you suffer from anxiety or panic out therapists specialise in helping people just like you and have the experience and the tools to help you overcome anxiety quickly and effectively. Most clients only need 3 – 4 sessions of hypnotherapy to regain control and find a permanent resolution to their anxiety, and most report a marked improvement in their level of anxiety after their first session.
Dr Gérard Sunnen of the New York University School of Medicine calls hypnosis “the most potent non-pharmacological relaxing agent known to science”. He will prescribe hypnosis before prescribing a tranquilliser.
